Enable the timer in the Form section of the customizer (under Capture partial submissions) or via the AI Assistant.
Key Capabilities
- Floating Responsive Pill: A sticky, non-intrusive timer component remains anchored at the top-right of the screen as respondents scroll through multi-question tests.
- Auto-Submission on Expiry: Programmatically disables all input controls when the timer hits zero, displays a "Time's up! Saving your answers..." state, and submits answers directly to Google Sheets with exponential retry resilience.
- Refresh & Tab Throttling Protection: Expiration is calculated using absolute server-synchronized timestamps (
/api/time) and stored in scoped local storage. Reloading the page or switching tabs cannot reset or delay the timer. - Anti-Copy & Context Menu Lock: Prevents question copying, text selection, and right-click context menu shortcuts (
Ctrl+C,Cmd+C) to reduce external answer searching. - Tab Switching & Strike Proctoring: Records every time a respondent departs from the assessment window. Configure strike limits (e.g., 3 strikes) to automatically submit or disqualify the test upon repeated violations.
- Paste Prevention: Disallows clipboard pasting into text boxes to ensure candidates formulate responses independently.
- Verified Audit Fields in Google Sheets: Injects hidden metadata (
timeStarted,timeSubmitted,durationSeconds,tabSwitchesCount,timeAwaySeconds,isAutoSubmitted) directly into your spreadsheet responses. - Zero Bundle Overhead: Standard untimed forms load zero timer code. The timer chunk is loaded dynamically on-demand only for forms with the feature enabled.
