Release Oct 5, 2026: Popover Embed (v1.6.1)

Open Share → Embed in a web page → Choose how you want to display form and pick the new Popover option.

The selected Standard, Popup or Popover mode is saved in the dashboard URL (?mode=popover, for example). Refreshing or opening that link keeps the selected mode.

What you can configure

  • Icon — Chat, Feedback, Help, Mail, Form or Star (Tabler icons), or upload/paste your own .svg. Custom SVG is sanitized and embedded directly in the generated code.
  • Position — floating bottom-right, floating bottom-left, or inline where the code is placed.
  • Look — background, icon color, button size and rounding.
  • Tooltip — optional text bubble beside the icon (data-tooltip) to catch attention. Visitors can dismiss it; it stays hidden for the rest of the session and while the form is open.
  • Accessible label — used as the button's aria-label.

Generated code

<div data-customgform="YOUR_FORM_ID"
     data-mode="popover"
     data-tooltip="Need help? Ask us"
     data-icon="chat"
     data-position="bottom-right"
     data-label="Open form"
     data-style="..."></div>
<script async src="https://cdn.customgform.com/cgf.js"></script>

For a custom icon the data-icon attribute is replaced by data-icon-svg="<svg …>…</svg>".

AI & MCP

Ask your assistant for a popover and it calls get_form_share_instructions with mode: "popover" and the popover* options. See AI & MCP.
