How to Use Theme Templates for Google Forms
See how to save your custom colors and typography into reusable templates.
Theme templates allow you to save your customization settings (colors, fonts, sizes, etc.) into a reusable template. You can name it, add a description, and apply it to other forms to maintain consistency across your projects.
Creating a Template
- Navigate to the Customize tab of your form.
- In the Design section, select Custom theme.
- Adjust the settings (colors, fonts, spacing) to your liking.
- Once you are satisfied with the design, click the Save as Template button (floppy disk icon) located in the top toolbar, next to the "Save changes" button.
- A modal will appear. Enter a Template Name (required) and a Description (optional).
- Click Save Template.
Your current theme settings are now saved as a new template.

- Navigate to the Customize tab.
- Open the Design section.
- Switch the view from "Custom theme" to Templates using the toggle at the top of the section.
- Under My Templates, you will see all your saved templates.
- Click on a template card to apply it to the current form. The preview will update immediately.
