How to connect Google Form with Webhook

CustomGForm lets you dispatch real-time HTTP POST requests to your own API, backend server, or custom middleware every time someone submits your form.

How It Works

When a respondent submits your embedded or hosted form, CustomGForm immediately executes an HTTP POST to your destination endpoint containing the response ID, submission timestamp, question labels, and typed respondent answers.

Step 1: Open the Connect Tab

  1. From the CustomGForm dashboard, select your form.
  2. Click on the Connect tab in the top navigation bar.
  3. On the Webhook card, click Connect (or the settings gear if already connected).

Step 2: Configure Your Endpoint URL

  1. In the Endpoint input field, enter the destination URL where your server accepts POST requests:
    https://api.yourdomain.com/v1/leads
  2. Ensure your server returns an HTTP status code between 200 and 299 upon successful receipt.

Step 3: Test Your Webhook with a Mock Event

To ensure your server parses the payload correctly before putting your form live:

  1. Click Send Test Event.
  2. CustomGForm instantly dispatches a test payload matching your form's schema with isTest: true.
  3. Check the inline diagnostics badge for latency and response status (200 OK).
  4. Click Save Changes.
